Psalm 91

I've been challenged to read this Psalm every day for a month. It speaks to me in ways that I never would have understood before we came here. I have been afraid of the pestilence (vrs.6) that stalks in the darkness. A child we know just got out of the hospital with malaria. We don't have cobras (vrs.15) but we do have scorpians and deadly snakes. Dwelling in the shelter of the Most High, resting in the shadow of the Almighty. Being covered with His feathers and finding a refuge under His wings. What a comforting word picture!
The verse that stuck out to me today was the second half of 14.
"I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."
Some of you scholars, look into that for me. What does acknowledge mean here? How do we do that? If you find any jewels as you study, please send them back to me. You can leave them in a comment on this post if you want. I'd love to hear what you find out.

Hi Sara! God bless you all!

To acknowledge God means to trust Him. It means to take Him at His word...and then act accordingly.

You're done that in the past. You're doing it at this very moment. And I'm sure that will be the case in the future.

Therefore, you can safely consider Psalm 91 to be God's personal promise to you.

"Let the morning bring me word of your UNFAILING LOVE, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift my soul." Psalm 143:8

Hi Sara,
Don't forget Who brought you to Trujillo! He loves each of you and will carry you and protect you through ALL things.
Seek Him in all things. Trust in Him for all things.
I know you know all these things - but we all need reminders/encouragement when we are in the thick of the battle. I love you and miss you and am amazed at you and Brian's faithfulness.
"In your UNFAILING LOVE you will lead the people you have redeemed..." Exodus 15:13

Always praying,
Carolee xoxo

Hi Sara,
Steve and I ate a mango tonight - ($1.50 on sale!). We bought it after reading about it being on your blessings list. Just a little something to make us feel close to you.
When I visit in Oct, remind me to have you teach me how to cut the slippery things!
Praying for you and missing you!
love c

Hi, Sara.

I thought of you this morning: it was snowing when I woke up and I’m really tired of the snow. Wishing I was in a warmer climate, I tried to think of something good about cold weather – no mosquitoes! Thinking of bugs reminded me of your family (haha), so I’m praying for you guys! Hopefully that brings a smile to your face :)

God bless you today,
jayna

Hi to all! I trust everything is going well - hope everyone is having a good time. :-) Psalm 91 has been a great encouragement to me, although I certainly have never gone through what you all have. May Jesus protect you as He promised! Many blessings to ya!

Sara,

God Bless YOU! You bless my heart as I read your blog and share how God is working in you and your family! My scripture verse God gave me last year that I have been focusing on is Matt 11:28-30. The more I focus on this scripture the more he reveals it to me in many situations.

Love, Kisses and God Bless
Melissa
