Star Fruit
Brian was visiting a fellow missionary's house and noticed a tree full of star fruit. He brought home these and we've been enjoying them. Even Brian who has some food allergies that prevent him from eating many fresh fruits, was able to eat them. How cool is that?! I didn't even know that they grew here!

Jonathan's Blog
We finally got Jonathan's blog up and running. He just finished his first post about what he did for school last week. I think its great, but then I'm a biased mom! Check it out! His blog address is:
Thanks to you dear computer savvy friends out there who helped me get this set up the way I wanted to! I'm so glad God blessed you with brains that work the same was as computers...and that you are willing to help poor me who's brain does not!

Laundry Luxury
I'm on cloud nine! Brian and Jonathan installed our new washing machine yesterday! What a huge blessing! You just can't appreciate what a big deal this is until you have lived nine months washing clothes for a family of six by hand at a cement box with a metal washboard embedded in it. Last night I did a small bleach load to test it out. It was so amazing! I put dirty clothes in and a very short time, not after an hour of back breaking scrubbing, they were finished, clean, clean, CLEAN! And this machine spins the water out so effectively that things are practically dry when I take them out. Washing by hand ensured that many times the clothes would have begun to mildew by the time they dried because we just couldn't squeeze all the excess water out. The things I hung up last night were perfectly dry this morning. It's dumb to go on and on about a washer, but I just want you to know how very THANKFUL I am to our sending church's elders for insisting that Brian spoil me with this "luxury" item! :) Did I mention that I'm ecstatic!
(Post script...as an added bonus, Jonathan worked side by side with his dad learning how to do plumbing and electrical for the installation. This definitely counts for school as I haven't even unpacked our tote of school books yet.)

Back in Trujillo!
Just a quick note to say that we are back here in Trujillo safe and sound. Brian made an advanced trip before our arrival to get things back in shape in our apartment and with the truck. Things are so much better than last year when it took us over a month after our arrival to get this building livable. Last night we were able to come in and put sheets on the beds and go to sleep. What a blessing!
It was beautiful driving yesterday. There is some tree that is flowering now with lovely pink blossoms that look similar to apple trees. In some places they lined both sides of the road. And the temperature is so nice after COLD New England!

On Our Way Back!
Well, so much for writing fabulous stories and posting wonderful pictures while we were home! We are one our way back to Honduras and should arrive there tomorrow about lunch time, Lord willing. We are in Houston for the night. Once again we are carrying our limit plus some for luggage. I do have to say though, that after all the traveling we did last year, the kids have really learned to be experts at this and have done very well, even hauling their share of the the stuff. So...we'll be in touch...hopefully before three months have passed!
